Aikido is a non-competitive martial art focused on personal development and self-protection that uses relaxation, balance and energy flows. Aikido is practiced equally by women and men.

Aikido is more than just a physical workout. Aikido can improve your mindfulness and mental focus.

Sankaku Aikido Didsbury

Sankaku Aikido was founded in October 2019. We are located in the Didsbury area of Manchester. Sankaku Aikido is also near to Withington, Northenden, Fallowfield, Heaton Moor, Heaton Mersey and Stockport.

Due to Coronavirus our classes are temporarily cancelled. We will update this message when we have further news on plans for reopening. If you want to be kept informed please use our Contact Us page. In the meantime be mindful, be compassionate, and stay safe.

Do you have Aikido classes for beginners?

The nature of Aikido enables beginners to join in straight away. This means there is no need for separate beginner classes. Everybody who trains in Aikido prioritises the safety of their training partner at all times.

Is Aikido Right for Me?

Each person has something unique to bring to Aikido and that is what we want to develop with you. Thinking martial arts are not for you? Think again.

What is Aikido?

Aikido translates as ‘the way of harmonising with energy’. Aikido does not involve fighting or even learning how to fight. We learn to use relaxation, balance and movement.

Our Ethos

We are keen to bring the benefits of Aikido to the widest possible audience. Our teaching is based on a series of easy-to-learn flowing movements that make Aikido accessible to all.

When & Where?
